Se trat\u00f3 de una revisi\u00f3n retrospectiva de 40 corredores con 41 lesiones, la mayor\u00eda de ellos mujeres (28 de 40), con una edad media de 30 a\u00f1os y un entrenamiento de una media de 72 kil\u00f3metros por semana antes de la lesi\u00f3n. En particular, el 63% de los corredores se clasificaron como de riesgo moderado o alto para la Tr\u00edada de Atletas Femeninos o Masculinos.<\/p>\n<p>El estudio encontr\u00f3 que los corredores que recibieron tratamiento ESWT para lesiones agudas por estr\u00e9s \u00f3seo (diagnosticadas dentro de los tres meses) tuvieron un regreso m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido a correr, con un promedio de 12 semanas, en comparaci\u00f3n con el grupo de control, que tom\u00f3 aproximadamente 19.8 semanas.
