The most common form of arthritis, osteoarthritis develops when the protective cartilage that cushions the ends of your bones wears down over time. The knees, hips, and hands are most commonly affected. OA is associated with pain, stiffness, swelling, and reduced range of motion — and it tends to worsen progressively.
Most conventional OA treatments focus on managing symptoms rather than addressing the underlying cartilage degeneration. Options typically include over-the-counter pain relievers, physical therapy, steroid injections, viscosupplementation (e.g., Synvisc), and eventually joint replacement surgery.
Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune condition in which the body’s immune system attacks the joints, causing inflammation, pain, and progressive joint damage. RA most commonly affects the small joints of the hands and feet but can impact joints throughout the body, including the knees.
RA treatment typically involves disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) and biologics — medications that can slow the disease but often come with significant side effects and don’t work for everyone.

Based on your consultation, our medical team develops a protocol specific to your joints, arthritis type, and health profile. This includes the cell type and quantity, the delivery approach (typically direct joint injection), and any adjunct therapies that may be appropriate for your case.
Most arthritis treatment protocols at Renovo are completed over 2–4 days. The procedure itself is minimally invasive — typically an injection into the affected joint(s). Most patients experience minimal downtime and are able to travel home within a day or two of treatment.

The effects of stem cell therapy, when they occur, tend to develop over several weeks to months rather than immediately after injection.
